First used this threader at a bag making workshop. Why did it take me so long to learn about it! Ordered it on the way home and have used it for several projects. The thin shoe-lace drawstrings in my pants always end up breaking within a few months. So I use this tool to re-thread a set of BOOT LACES into the pants as a draw string.I fixed my son's clothes that had mock pull strings. I used it to put straps in 4 shorts and 1 pants of his rather quickly thanks to this. Bendable enough that it even works on 4t/5t clothes.Does the job as advertised, 100% satisfiedIt is completely insane how life-changing this simple piece of plastic has been. I make and sell embroidered drawstring bags, and had been using a safety pin to pull the ribbon (or other drawstring material) through the channel, as my frugal mother taught me when I was young. As most sew-persons know, they have a tendency to become unpinned while in the channel - most of my bags are satin or other fancy material, so having an open pin stuck inside has the potential to snag and completely ruin the project (during the final step, no less). I've also had issues with the safety pin getting hung up on seam allowances, and when I use ribbon, being poked with a pin causes the end to fray & have to be trimmed off later. This simple tool has instantly eliminated all my drawstring problems! The ribbon slides into the eye at the flexible end, and the stiff end goes through the channel, directly to the other opening, give it a little tug, and zzzzzZZZIP! All done in 2 seconds, with zero frustration! I can't even believe how much I love this silly thing. Whoever invented it was a GENIUS. It has sped up my work time, eliminated stress, and improved the quality of my life! Not to mention, rescued my fancy satin bags from potential demise due to ugly pin snags.I haven't tried it yet with pulling elastic through a waistband, but I'm very confident it will be just as easy and satisfying. If my mother were still around, she would give me no end of hell about spending money on something that can be done by a safety pin. And technically it can be done by a safety pin, but this is SO MUCH BETTER! Worth $8.50, if only for the sake of making the last step of a project super simple and fun. Sewing is supposed to be fun! Not frustrating!I bought a new pair of pants with a draw string and instantly loved them. Somehow in the very 1st wash, I lost my drawstring very very far into the waistband. I tried alot of household items to no avail. This product was super simple to use. It is thick on one end, making it easy to grip. My string was the flat kind, it was real easy to get the end in the little hoop and guide it out. I think it would be even easier on the round type that seem more common. If you have alot of drawstring clothes, buy one of these. It won't damage your clothes the way household items might. I could see this making a cool gift/stocking stuffer for a hoodie lover you know! I was considering getting my son one.I’m so impressed with this little tool! It saved my life lolI was hesitant to purchase this thinking I could rig something to do the job. Well, after much frustration with my homemade item, I ordered. My son's team shorts drawstring gave way. Again. I groaned. These are newer shorts with the "preassembled/elastic/drawstring" combo that has several tiny pieces of threadlike material the entire path of the waistband. I had fought these little nasty blockades 3 times prior. I was skeptical. But gave it try. I needed about 5 minutes to guide the thick end of the threader thru, leaving the eye exposed. I loaded the 1/8" replacement drawstring. Even at this point...still skeptical. I didn't need to secure the new string at all, as it folded around the tool, for upon entry to the shorts, it became secure. I carefully pulled the tool thru and had sudden success. I kinda stared at it for a moment, calculating how much time I had wasted (um, HOURS), by NOT purchasing this first. I'll be taking this, along with the extra drawstring, to the tourney.I typically do not write reviews. This little gadget earned my attention.
