Very light and no single metal screw on head so it is safe for wood. Easy to use on hardwood floor and under cabinets/beds. I should have bought this easier should I knew it's exist.I wonder why the original Dyson does not include this tool. My multi surface head is worn off and there is a metal screw almost touching the floor.I bought a reconditioned DC23 about ten years ago, for about $200. It’s absolutely great for carpets and upholstery, I love it. But last year, we moved into a house with hard floors, and Dee Dee the Dyson just wasn’t cutting it.This product fits my DC23 perfectly. I didn’t quite understand the value of the word “articulating” until I got this home and was able to vacuum behind the toilets. This attachment gets under the couch with ease. It glides across the floor. It’s exactly what I needed. Dee Dee the Dyson lives on.It’s a little pricey for a lightweight piece of plastic but it cleans my hardwood floors without leaving any scuffs or scratches and that’s the important thing. I use the attachment with my Dyson DC59 Motorhead.I've used a stair tool on my hardwood floors for years. This is so much better! The suction could be better, but overall it's great!I have Dyson Ball Animal 3 vacuum cleaner. I use this Articulating Hard Floor Tool to reach under sofas and tables on my hardwood floors. I also use it in the closets where they have hardwood floors, and in my bathrooms to pick up hair. I've also used it on walls to pick up dust and cobwebs! While it works well, the price is high.Used for auto liked it very goodI got a new Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal in May and have been wanting to get this tool from the beginning but had to wait for my budget to have room for it. I finally ordered it and it arrived today. At the earliest opportunity i tried it out and i love it, really really love it, the way it can easily turn in so many different angles so that it does all the work of turning, i don't have to, i don't have to contort my body to get it right up against the baseboards and into tight corners that i couldn't get any other tool into--the only way was to stop the vacuum, get something like a crevice tool and bend own and twist it around to get it into those places, where this articulating tool easily can be pushed in the general direction and it finds its way to where i want it to go, all while comfortably standing up. Great tool for my needs. i have only used it in the kitchen and back porch/laundry room so far, not in the bathrooms. i wish i had something like this for the wall to wall carpeted areas. It did a good job of picking up the stuff i had on the floor. There was one piece that it could not pick up. I tried to pick it up with the regular vacuum, with and without beater bar but it couldn't pick the thing up either, a little piece of dark thin wood-like substance. I don't know what was so hard about that.I had read at least one review before buying this that said the tool gets a huge amount of hair and lint on its brushes so that a lot of work is required to remove it, like twice the work. So i was on the lookout for that. i hadn't swept or vacuumed the kitchen in a few weeks. I didn't see lint and hair when looking down at the tool after finishing but when i picked it up and turned it over, there was lint and dust and hair stuck to the tool's brush in some areas. i removed it from the wand and just used the wand itself with no tool (for max power) and was able to vacuum off all the lint ad dust and hair from the brush in about 10 or 15 seconds. I realize that people's floors vary in how much stuff they have on them so mine could well be less than others. My long haired dog has a summer hair cut so he's not shedding like before. But like i say, it had been a few weeks since the last time i vacuumed the kitchen. i was putting it off until i got this tool.So my verdict is, this is the easiest time i have ever had vacuuming the kitchen floor and i am very happy with the tool, what it does in the way it turns in all directions, almost all the way around, easily, to get close to walls and to go around chair legs and all kinds of places, again, i only regret i can't use it on the carpeted area. This is a favorite tool which i look forward to using again. We purchased this to use with our Dyson DC41 Vacuum, it comes as you see it in the picture, it is similar to a brush broom with suction in the center. The tool bottom is a rectangular bar with a 1/4 inch of stiff bristles all the way around the parameter, it includes that small adapter that is about 2 inches long I guess some Dyson models require, although the DC41 does not require I don't think, and it works wonderfully! It gets into all the places on our Laminate and our Tile which is what it was purchased for.It cleans very well, if you have dried on dirt or such I am sure it will work well on that too, we've had one case of a small patch of mud, when it dried it vacuumed right off, it also pivots along the floor and the vacuum follows along with you as you move with the model we own, which again is the DC41...BIG BUT HERE...BUT.. We in our family are blessed with height, I am 5' 9 1/2, and my Husband 6', my son is 6'1", our daughter who is just 3 is in the 95% for her height range, so surely will be tall as well.. (and being that we spent $600 on the vacuum, my daughter better be using it in her 30s, 27 years from now) the design of this particular attachment is great, except for the fact that is it lacking a longer tube extension attachment and the ability (so far that I've researched) to purchase a tube extension.SO, the ergonomics of using this if you are blessed with any height over I would say 5' 4" is severely lacking. Most vacuum brands have extension tubes you can purchase or they even come with, I have yet to find one for Dyson, so, we are hunched over cleaning our laminate and tile floors, which cover 70% of our home. This is not the only attachment that could benefit with such an extension tool, and why there is no extension tube where you have innovations with the Dyson brand no other vacuum designer has, I have no clue, but PLEASE come out with one soon if you're reading..AN EXTENSION TUBE SET SIMILAR OR EVEN IDENTICAL TO YOUR CANISTER VACUUMS WITH A HANDLE WOULD BE GREAT!and NOPE, to answer the question, the canister tubes for the Dyson canisters do not connect, we tried at an electronics store with their demo/floor models, we tried everything we could think of that day, the sales guy actually said we could "buy one from Dyson for the Canister and use duct tape".. Really?? Duct tape does not fix everything there Skippy, contrary to popular opinion..Long and Short, FANTASTIC TOOL, POOR ERGONOMIC OVERALL DESIGN, Dyson please offer to Sell it with or separate, but this, as it is now is very hard on an already bad back.I hope to have helped your purchasing decision, Thanks for reading.I'm going to stop myself 1-STARing this Dyson product simply because James Dyson is a traitor to the UK (and his EU partners and employees), and I now have mixed feelings about all the Dyson products we've bought over the years. But I'll say that it's a great addition to our current Dyson vacuum. The only reason I dropped a star is because I think it should come with another extendable attachment to elongate the straight part of the hose. I'm only 5'6 and I have to bend to use this on the floor with our upright vacuum; I realise it's not a problem for the cylinders, which have the correct length nozzles, but I think it's an oversight, especially considering the cost of this attachment, when compared to the stair attachment, which would have been more costly to make.Anyway, it works well, and picks up all the loose dog and cat fluff rolling about on our hardfloors.Great addition to my Dyson tools. Easily copes with my wood floor. As states that it fits all Dyson models it does not. Mine is a V10 and will not fit.Brilliant, made my life a lot easierWorks better than the powered brush that is supplied with my V11 when cleaning hardwood floors. It is also lighter and easier to maneuver in tight areas. This should be a standard accessory with all Dyson vacuums. I did remove one star as it is less convenient than the brush supplied with my FOURTY year old Royal vacuum which has a lever on it to adjust the brush height. Such is progress!
