Used this to install replacement drain tubes on a '73 Boston Whaler. This can handle up to a three inch drain tube as delivered. This worked great for my shorter drain tube, 2.25". The flanging tool, as delivered, can handle a max length of 3 1/8" and can compress as short as 1 5/8". For anything longer or shorter you will need to find a suitable 1/2" carriage bolt or steel rod.My whaler had two drain tubes to flange. For the longer drain tube I had to get a 1/2" threaded rod cut to the longer length I needed. Worked great for that as well. (For the longer tube which was about 11" I had the rod cut at 15" which worked well for me.Amazon suggested this tool for the 1 X 6 brass drain tube. It's too short! Looks like a trip to the hardware store for a bigast bolt is in order before I can use this thing :-( I wonder what they use for the really long ones for the Boston Whalers. Hmmm.I was able to replace the drain hole in my 1988 Deck boat after replacing the transom. It looks professional. I think that I am required to put more words in this box before it is accepted. I do not like that you require a minimum number of words rather than letting me put things in my own words.Tool worked fine but had to replace the bolt with all thread to work on the 13 inch drain holeGreat tool to install a drain plug in aluminum boat that did not come equipped with one . Installation required only a special bit from the hardware store to drill a hole and my 12 volt drill.Very good tool and does a professional jobTh tool is just as described!Did the trick, for the cost of the repair at the shop I own the tool!
