Darn, these tools are hard to find at a reasonable price. It took quite a bit of searching on Amazon to find it. This is a tool specific to fascia boards that are generally 3/4 to 1 inch thick. This drills the hole through the board with a counter sink for the screw and starts the hole into the supporting sub structure. Then, if you use the correct screw, the screw head is flush with the board surface. Getting the correct screw can be a problem too. Many of the screws are for 1-1/2 inch thick sub fascia and are much too long for thinner sub fascia boards. The screws purchased with this are 1-7/8 inches in length and will just barely penetrate through the 1-in. thick fascia and the 1-in. thick sub fascia boards. The screws are stainless steel and will be used with PVC fascia boards.Glad I found it on Amazon for half the price of other sellers.Works great....!Good toolWorks but you have to make sure push the tool into the fascia boad hard enough or it wont completely cut the hole and will leave a little piece attached on the outer edge. But just make sure the collar isnt just making like contact and its work fineThe drill bit that I received did not drill deep enough for my plugs to be placed I feel I overspent my money to just get screws and now have unslightly screws showing. Luckily I started on an inconspiculous area I guess I have to use multiple drill bits to complete project Will follow up review if I receive new bitDoes the job intended doesn't leave the cleanest cut on the edge of the counterset but specialty tool brand specific kinda tied to 1 particular toolBest way to hang composite fascia. Looks better to just have two of these recessed color matching fascia screws every few feet, to hang the composite fascia, as opposed to trying to hide the screws. This tool drills the hole and recesses it all in one go. Gives some room for expansion and contraction. Tip: don’t fasten the screws too tight let it hang like Installing siding.Big Box store could not find this item in their system. found on amazon and saved my life (lol). Bought for my TREX decking. Drilled every hole exactly the same, each and every time. Used on my "fascia" boards and my decking boards.
