I had to replace an interior hollow slab door due to accidentally knocking a hole in it. I bought the first door predrilled for the door knob so I wouldn't have to buy this tool. I got the door mounted and found out the builder of the house didn't bore the striker plate at the standard height. Door #2, I bought another door but then had to buy the door lock boring kit. Like others, I didn't want to spend $30 for a set up I doubt I'm going to use again. I knew that you get what you pay for going into this. I completed the job on the door but will give forewarning to check your measurements and position of the plastic guide before starting to drill. Another tip is to use masking tape so the hole saw doesn't chip the surface. Once your pilot bit goes through the other side of the door, move to the other side of the door and bore till the hole saw goes through. I tested the tool out on the old door before using it on the new door. Use a piece of wood to practice setup if you've never used this set and you will be happy and less chance of mistakes happening. I recently changed the lock sets on my house. I had to enlarge the deadbolt hole and used the big hole saw. The door is a thin metal door. The hole saw didn't cut through the metal before the teeth were rounded off. This metal is thinner than cereal box cardboard. The dremel completed the job.
