The standard 9 foot ribbon from Walmart is too short.I bought this as a gift for my mom and she loves it. She had the smaller one and liked it but she always wants to make bigger bows and holding them isn't as easy as it use to be as she is getting older. I would recommend this for any crafters that makes bows or wants to start learning.Love it love itStill on the fence with this. I've used it once and hadca hard time with it. I don't have a DVD player so I watched a YouTube video instead. Followed it step by step and still couldn't make a decent bow. I'm gonna try again tomorrow and see what happens. If it still doesn't work I'll be retyrning it.I love it. Easy to use. Great instructions.I tried a cheap little wood contraption with pegs, seemed like that would work okay. Turned out... it didn't. I should have gotten this to begin with but I was trying to save money. The Bowdabra worked great, sturdy, my very first bow turned out beautiful. Skipped the dvd just because there are so many YouTube videos where people show how to use this.For years I had Bow Magic, which somewhat did the job, awkward and clumsy. This device is a life changer.This tool helps you to make perfect bows for parcels. I thought the idea was great. It’s easy to use and gives a perfect bow.However, no one was as impressed with the bows on my parcels as I was myself. They just took them off and never raved over them.After all my work too. Perhaps it’s my family, but I would only purchase this if you knew your family likes exceptionally nice bows on parcels. They said it was a bit OTT A simple lot, mineWow! a machine so simple yet so very clever. It is easy to use just takes making a couple of bows for you to become proficient. I advise checking uTube for videos showing how to use this super machine. Don't hesitate to purchase making bows has never been easier.Very easy to use. Great for when having to twist the ribbon on one sided ribbon. Leaves you with hands free.This really is a brilliant little item, it certainly takes hand made bows to a new level. It is simple to use, fuss free and leaves both hands free to tie the bow. The added bonus of the wand is really useful for 'scrunching down' the ribbons and the CD is a lovely addition meaning that you can watch and pause as it takes you through the process of bow making. I purchased the Bodabra Hairbow maker as I wanted to make professional looking bows for my craft work especially my dolls and embroidered wall hangers but I am also using it to create hair bows and scrunchies …. I would recommend this item to others as it really is simple to use and with a little imagination you can make some truly professional looking bows which are unique to you. EDITED 19/02/19 … I am so taken up with this little gadget that I am now ordering the large BowdabraLittle expensive but it is one of the best gadgets I have ever bought. I enjoy making wreaths and it makes perfect bows.
