This tool is an important addition to the spindle turners armory. It can be used to plane, bead, cove and trim end grain. It is easy to use and sharpen. The polished back bevel helps to produce a high quality finish with exceptional results on softer, traditionally more difficult woods like pine. Illustrated instructions are supplied. Made from high speed steel and then properly hardened and tempered. They will keep a sharpened edge about six times longer than carbon steel and resist "blued" softening from overheating during grinding or from heavy turning. They come with hard White Ash handles and brass ferrules. Handle is 10 inches long with the tool being 6 1/4 inches in length. Overall length is 16 1/4 inches.
