This is an aid to get those pesky Adel clamps to get tight enough so you can get a screw and nut on it. Put the awl through both holes on the clamp, set the vise grip (with two U-shaped flats) to compress the two ends of the clamp together and get it tight enough so you can remove the awl and install a screw and nut loosely. Pop the vise grip off and all you have to do is tighten down the clamp. These would easily pay for themselves on an engine change, you'll save a lot of time especially on the big induction tube clamps and wire bundle clamps.Pros:- The concept is solid, and it works with very few problems.- The awl leaves enough room for a 3/16 screw or bolt when removed.- Good metal, I've put a lot of strain on those tabs and they haven't bent yet.- The vise grip is roughly 6 inches long.Cons:- Doesn't really work in very tight areas.- The vise grip only opens so far if you want to grip the ends tight enough to remove the awl, so you have to pull the ends together to get it on. It's really not that big of a deal, but worth mentioning.
